Sports play a significant role in our culture, and in the lives of many survivors. At least 13% of athletes will experience at least one type of sexual assault or harassment in the context of sport, and survivors participate in athletics as parents, teammates, fans, and team employees. This presents a unique and valuable opportunity for communities looking to spread the Start By Believing philosophy.

Join us for this event and learn why Start By Believing belongs in athletics and how athletics can amplify the message of Start By Believing. Kacey Long will share wisdom from her work with The Army of Survivors, an organization dedicated to ending sexual violence in sports by providing resources, education and advocacy. Hollis Brown will discuss how she brought the Start By Believing campaign to the professional sports organization where she works, and provide attendees with guidance on how to engage your local teams to support survivors and raise awareness in your communities.
